I would consider converting to Islam, but there’s not much point.
I’m openly gay, and in a relationship, and we’re pretty open and obvious about it. But I could never bring the love of my life to Muslim community events. As a (liberal) Muslimah friend said today, I couldn’t even expect people to keep their comments to themselves, never mind actually welcoming us as a gay couple. As a Muslim I could never bring together the two most important things in my life: my faith and my love.
